Master Plan Kickoff Meeting

The City of Nevada is hosting a Kickoff Meeting with the planning consultant team Shafer, Kline & Warren to update the Master Plan

This kickoff meeting will identify some of the core issues in the planning process:

• What is the best time for public meetings?
• Comparison communities currently include Fort Scott, El Dorado Springs, Rich Hill, Carthage, Webb City, and Joplin. Are these appropriate?
• What other indicators would you like to see compared?
• Tell us about Nevada – what do we need to know? (culture, “hidden gems”, history, etc.)
• What are the community’s top 5 assets? Weaknesses?
• What are your goals for this Plan?
• What is your vision for Nevada?

• Community Facilities/Services
• Housing
• Economic Development
• Community Development
