Public Works Installs New Storm Drain

The Public Works department is addressing a drainage problem in the 700 block of West Allison.

The installation of new a storm drain and inlet boxes will prevent future flooding during heavy rains. In the past this area was prone to flooding and caused unsafe conditions.

During the spring rains the north side of Allison created a water hazard for students leaving from the High, Middle, and Truman schools, because many walk this street on their way home.

Public works will install two storm drain inlets and re-route a storm drain across West Allison to Spring Street down to the intersection of Hickory Street. The storm inlet at Spring Street and Hickory will be revamped as well.
