The Nevada Police Department along with the Fire and Parks Department conducted a Bike Rodeo at the Nevada Community Center on September 29th. The bike rodeo was designed to help children in the City learn some of the basic safety tips for riding a bike.
A main goal for the rodeo was to insure everyone who attended, registered their bikes with the Nevada Police Department. The Police Department was also able to provide the children with a new safety helmet.
The Nevada Fire Department and the Parks and Recreation were on hand grilling hotdogs for the participants. Representatives from “Health Nevada” were also present and provided a mechanic to conduct bike repairs and inspections.
Event donations were provided by Aaron Sachs and Associates of Joplin, Ramey’s Supermarket, Woods Supermarket, 3M, Sonic, Pizza Hut, and Wal-Mart.
The Nevada Police Department would like to remind everyone that they can register a bike with the City during regular business hours Monday – Friday.
