The Nevada Fire Department will be offering a Fire Fighter I & II course starting January 7, 2013. This course has been approved by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety and meets NFPA 1001-2008 Standard. Classes will meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from January-June. There will also be 1-2 Saturdays each month.
Upon Satisfactory completion of the course and passing all State exams, the student will receive State certifications as:
- Fire Fighter I
- Fire Fighter II
- Haz-Mat Awareness
- Haz-Mat Operations
These certifications will assist the student in starting their career in the Fire Service.
There are some fees for the course but could be almost completely free for personnel belonging to any Fire Department in Vernon County.
