National Night Out
NEVADA, MO., July 11, 2012—The Nevada Police Department and Parks Departments will host National Night Out (NNO) to combat crime and drugs in Nevada on Tuesday, August 7th.
Nevada area residents are invited to attend the NNO celebration from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Nevada Aquatic Center located at the intersection of Atlantic Street and Ash Street. In addition to the pool being open to the public for free, KCP&L employees and police will be preparing hot dogs for the crowd. The members of the Nevada Police department are encouraging participation with either corporate sponsorship or as a display participant.
There will be activities for children including games, giveaways, door prizes and more! Many local community agencies and law enforcement groups are participating in this year’s event. Police, ambulance, fire and other emergency vehicles will be on display, to the delight of all attendees.
This 29th annual National Night Out celebration is expected to involve more than 38 million people in approximately 15,000 communities across the United States. National Night Out is designed to increase crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and let criminals know that citizens in their neighborhoods are fighting back.
